I like this combo better than my old D750+24-85mm

I am very much impressed by the 24-70 F4. I would have preferred it to be a little longer on the telephoto side, but it is .longer than the 24-50 that is offered with most of the kits, and an S series lens to boot. Not many are offering this combo as a bundle, Nikon included. B&H is offering this package at $1850 with a memory card, or $1900 without(Don't ask me why it's more expensive without a card. As far as I can determine they both have USA warranties.). Haven't seen any one else carrying this. On a whim I talked to a manager at the local Best Buy store and told him that B&H was selling this as a bundle, and since they had the camera and this lens in stock, could they price match. He looked it up and said yes.

For better or worse, if I had known how much money I was going to spend a couple weeks later for other things in life that happen, I would never have made this purchase, but such is life. It is a bright spot for me to know that the camera is there and waiting for me when things ease up a bit.

Nice photos. I personally cannot figure out why Nikon was motivated to even build a 24-50mm kit lens. Their goal had to have been to have a kit that would inspire the buyer to upgrade the lens immediately. I had to assemble my own kit at the time of buying my Z5. The store had a pair of used 24-70mm f/4 priced at $500 each. I just bought the Z5 body only and added one of the used 24-70mm. I believe there will be several used samples available as the people who bought a Z body early did not have a 24-70 f/2.8 available in Z mount for several months. They are trading up.

Personally my roadmap for Z lenses is going to be to do it right and get the 14-24mm f/2.8 next, 105mm f/2.8 2nd, and then make a decision on if I want to upgrade my 70-200mm f/2.8 to a Z version or find a fast 50mm prime. But I will do both, just a matter of order.

I was in a similar situation. I bought the Z5 when it was on sale for C$1300 (~US$1000) and used it with my old F-mount lens 24-85mm for several months, and then I found an used lens 24-70 f/4 from a guy who upgraded to 24-70 f/2.8. Totally this Z5 combo cost me less than the D750 body I bought 6 years ago.

I'm also a fan of this lens. I picked up a refurbished copy soon after getting my Z50. It is my general purpose, walking around lens. Even without VR and no IBIS in the Z50 body, it produces excellent images if I do my part.

If anyone is interested, I see that Nikon has a 4 day sale and has the refurbed 24-70 F4 for just under $500. The additional 10% comes off when you put it in your cart.
