I'm excited for this lens! It was a little surprising the teleconverter doesn't work with the 105. Think there will be a replacement 200 f4 coming down the pipes?

I seriously doubt that Nikon will ever again produce a 200mm Micro lens. If they had done so for the AF-S series lenses, I believe that it would have been a high-volume seller!

I think you are right, it would have been a high volume seller. They've got the technology to either go with 200 f1.8, (assuming thy want to on-up the predecessor) or 200 f4,(3.5?). I think it'll be one of the two. Maybe the portrait lens because it's $6k instead of $2k? Maybe macro because they've killed the teleconverter for anything other than telephoto? Maybe they scrap both because the 105 is good enough? I hope we see the maximum potential of what they can come up with on the new mount. Maybe the 200 micro is just too specialized, but if they could make it lighter and more accessible pricewise, it would be more of a staple in more camera bags.
