Found this Snowy on a lamp post about 100 yards to my left. She sensed a field mouse under roughly 4 inches of snow about 100 yards to my right (finally had one fly somewhat towards me).

Thanks for your comments guys! I've been following the "eruptions" of the last 4 years and have literally spent hundreds of hours at the Airport in Syracuse where a handful spend a couple months. There is usually 1 or 2 that spend the winter and its a needle in a haystack at best. 9 times out of 10 after hours of stalking (and freezing my ass off) they fly off in the other direction. I'd like to thank that field mouse...,

On a side note, and somewhat comical, I get great results using facial recognition priority C-AF on the owls. 9 point C-AF is great, but I had a hard time nailing the eyes with so many targets, I'm sure it would be the same with Nikon.

"graphic images" I see worse at the burger establishments in town. Nice set, hope you have a very large wall in your dining room to display them. :)

Great series of photos, Rick. I dislike seeing the Circle of Life although I know it's inevitable. :( We have a birdfeeder in our yard so quite often a bird will get taken with only a pile of feathers left behind. And we also have Kamikazee Crows that take unhatched bird eggs and pull out the unborn babies.

Would love to see owls around here. Haven't heard of any although there are supposed to be some eagles.

Nicely done on your images!
