A little on the warm side but still a nice day to be at the Circle B with my Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary. What a difference form my 70-300mm. I had more than a few bird shots where I cut off the feet! I will have pay more attention in the future.

Great shots. Are they all hand held? I was blurring way too many hand shots below 1/1250 when I first got that lens so I have been locked in at 1/1250 for awhile. Now that I am getting comfortable with it I am hoping I can slow down that shutter if I have to.

The first 6 posted were with a tripod. I think 400 of the 430 I took were handheld. It is tough when the light is not very good. I tossed about 50 shots that came out like pure crap. Still much better than my Tamron 70-300.

Rich, You're "like a kid in a candy store" with that combo, and I can see why. How critical do you think the 500-600 mm range is?

Great shots. My 150-600 has been a little difficult to get used to. I am finally getting consistently decent shots.

I think if I lived near Circle B I would be there a couple time a week.

I am not sure how critical the 500-60mm range is. I think I only go to the 600mm because it is there and I can, sometimes that is still not enough to make a difference for me. I am still learning it and the focal length is a challenge for me.

It is a challenge for me as well. Manual with auto ISO was my mode for most of that day. It seemed to work ok. If I had the time I would be at the Circle B a couple of times a week also. I am going to try to go again next weekend for more practice.

I have the Tamron 150-600 and I also use Manual with Auto ISO but recently I have turned the VR off and am getting more consistent and better results. been using a minimum of 1/1500 sec with is fine since for the most part I am shooting birds.

I might give what you are doing a try to see what happens. I think I will make it out to the Circle B on Saturday if you want to join me...maybe Sunday as well.
