This guy was not going to stick around once he saw me.

That's a good coyote catch. I usually get them about 1/4 mile away and only can see their tail. Ha!

Now for a quick question, because I am not smart enough to guess. Ha! I have noticed that at times your EXIF data states focal length 420, but your lens is 300mm. Is that because of a tele-converter or some other neat little trick? Ha!

Thanks, and yes, a 1.4x teleconverter.

Couldn't really find another spot to post this. Not a great picture, saw this guy on the edge of town and managed to get a couple pics from the car. By the time I switched lenses it was gone into the bushes.

Saw this guy today. By the time I got the car parked and out to where I could take the picture he was about 120 yards out. He was limping and sure did not like seeing me.

Coyotes have such a bad reputation. They are just trying to get along on this planet like the rest of us. They are beautiful.

That is a really nice shot @Woodyg3. I have only seen a couple in the daytime in all the time Pat and I have lived out here in the country. It is a surprise to see them at night. Horse farm owners and cattle folks keep them on their toes. I have a friend that his job is ridding the horse farms Coyotes, Raccoons, Ground Hogs and the like.

In my neck of the woods they are an invasive species, transplanted into the area by man. They are wreaking havoc with native species. The only thing worse is the feral hogs. They have made quite a negative impact on the ecostructure.

The Arb family is expanding -- saw a pair of pups today, but couldn't get a pic. Spotted mom in the grass a distance away and she spotted me. After a look, she headed deeper into the bushes
