Your advice for DSLR for birding

Hi, I'm in the process of buying a new DSLR. I've read a lot on this forum and I would like to hear your advice. What is at the moment the best camera for birding, flowers, and macro?
Is the D7200 good enough for sharp pics etc.

Thanks.

As @mikew says, the crop sensor models are best suited to wildlife, particularly birds because they have a cropped sensor. Without going into all the hows and whys, a crop sensor multiplies the lens's focal length by 1.5 times, giving you better reach. Currently, the D7200 is at the top of the tree in the range of Nikon crop sensor cameras.

Of the current crop of Nikons I would go with the D7200. Do not save a bit of money on a refurb/used D7100 as the minuscule buffer makes it an impossible camera for birds in flight unless you only shoot JPEG. If you're not in a hurry and not on a budget, you may want to wait to see what the rumored D400 offers and at what price point. It's the only rumored Nikon on my radar.

As Jake said, the D7100 limits the number of shots you can take in a burst to a very low number. I have found that my D7200 focuses more accurately and quickly than my D7100, as well, although the difference is not huge. I fully recommend the D7200 as the best Nikon choice currently available for birding.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I think the D7200 is better for birds. It only surprised me that the LCD screen is a fixed one, as I photograph also flowers, it would be handy to have an articulated screen. I see on the internet rumors about D400. Maybe we hear more about it when the show is on in Seattle. It also depends on what the price of that one will be. And the new telezoom 200-500 is not too expensive, so maybe that'll be a nice combo.

My eyes are on the exact same prize!
