Can you help ID this bird please?

I know I have trouble IDing lots of birds. I research using my book(s) and whatbird.com only to be told it's not correct. I thought maybe we can have a thread specific to bird ID.

Please feel free to post your answer and/or question.

So, I'll start. I think this is a female Grackle, but I think the colors are off a tad. What do you think?

My id skills are quite lacking, but at first glance I thought brown headed cowbird, though the beak looks too long.

Thanks wev. I looked at Cowbird and ruled that out, the brown on their head doesn't go down the chest from the photos I reviewed.

Knowing where the images were taken would help tremendously.

Well...I will venture just a guess...

IMHO, it appears to be a Blueye-russet-breasted-limbpercher. Have not seen any here lately, although I think I saw one once.

Regardless, two excellent photos!

Oh that's Sally! I heard she gets around, but you know how birds gossip, so I can't say for sure!

You know that could be Jenny, but her mouth is closed, and Jenny is known to have her mouth open constantly, for one reason or another! So my bet is it's Sally!

Well I suppose it could be Bob, since he's real lady like! But his feet are huge and these on this bird are nowhere near that big! Besides I'm just passing on what heard! Lol
