My new D850 is on the way and im looking for a wide angle lens for it mainly to capture landscapes, I have read some good things about the Nikon 20mm F1.8G ED lens, anyone else here using that lens for landscapes or what would you guys recommend?

I use an older 20mm f2.8... If you want a fast lens, that's fine. I find that 99% of my Landscape is done off a tripod for long shutter speeds whether with ND filters and/or low light/night so fast is way down on my priority list...

The Sigma has a bulbous front element. Looks like there will be some type of filter holder available later this year by a company. But you won't be able to use a simple screw on filter.

Most likely you will want to mount the camera to a tripod especially when using ND filters or slow shutter speeds.

I agree with Fred. You won't need a fast lens since most landscape photos are taken stopped down anyway. I have the Nikon 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G lens (no VR with this lens). It's sharp and lightweight. Not sure how it would perform on a D850, but in tests, it was slightly sharper than the Nikon 16-35mm f/4 VR. I find it is sharper than my former 20mm f/2.8D.
