I am thinking of getting a Sigma 10-20 f3.5 lens for a forthcoming holiday and am looking for opinions on just how good it is and if there are any issues to look out for.
I will most likely be using it with my gripped d7200 and the subjects are landscapes/scenery, castles and maybe some industrial stuff too.

I don't know anything about the lens but want to make you are you are aware of some compatibility issues with non-docking Sigma lenses. Newer Sigmas lenses can have their firmware updated at home using a dock. There have been issues with older Sigma lenses not being 100% functional when newer Nikon bodies come out. Sigma will update the firmware (possibly for free) when lenses are sent in, but I *think* the customers have to pay shipping. Does this lens have the ability to update firmware with a dock?

I haven't heard about this issue with Tokina or Tamron lenses but am not sure. Just want you to make an informed decision. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I have the Sigma 10 to 20 3.5 DC HSM. Don't use the lens frequently but I've had no focus issues on the d7100.

I have the older 3.5-5.6 version and am completely satisfied with it so far. I've had it for over 6 years.

I have this lense on a d7200. Both are fairly new to me but I have had no issues and the focus appears sharp in the few pictures I have taken.
