I'm considering selling my Nikon 35mm 1.8g and not getting the nikon 20mm 1.8g that I was looking at and instead getting this [h=1]Sigma 24-35mm F2 DG HSM Art
I think I can get the Sigma for about 1/2 of what the Nokon 20mm would cost if I sold the 35mm.[/h]Any opinions or advice would be appreciated.

I'm a fan of the ART lenses.

I didn't go with the zoom, but have done several of the primes. The build quality is excellent, and the price is usually (with the exception of the 50mm) a better bargain than the Nikon equivalent. From the ART zooms that I've looked at, I don't think you can go wrong.

The Sigma 24-35mm f/2 is a superb lens.

Nasim reviews it thoroughly here: Sigma 24-35mm f/2 DG HSM Art Review

ive used the lens for 2 weddings. very limited range but excellent performance
build is amazing. super smooth zoom feel. useable at f/2. funny how you start zooming and poof, no more range. focuses quite close also

I've decided to keep my 35mm f1.8g and pickup the 20mm f1.8g. I think the added weight of the Sigma 24-35 is a factor as is the loss of 2mm on the wide end.
