I love mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It isn't weather sealed, but in comparison to the 20mm...well...there is no comparison! It has more color and contrast than the 20mm plus I found it to be sharper. Seriously, it is fantastic! Although not quite as fast, it's amazing. It is extremely light weight. There is a lot of plastic to it compared with my other lenses, but it performs beautifully. Just make sure you don't go with the 'D' version of that lens. The current one is the one to consider.

Thanks for the reply and the images. I'm going to check it out when I'm on my home computer.
The only reason I'm looking, is that I like zoom for landscapes. (sometimes zooming with the feet is not possible).

I will still keep my 20mm, (it is the one that you owned a long time ago) because it comes in real handy due to it's small size.
Last weekend when I went to visit the gardens, it was hot and humid ,so it was nice not having to carry too much stuff.

As for the 18-35 not being fast, that is fine. I don't open it up much for landscape shots anyhow so that is not a problem.

I needed a wide-angle zoom for my D700 and was considering the 18-35D version, but changed my mind after reading some reviews on it.
It seems that G version is much better, but I don't want to spend 700-800$ for this lens.
So for now I will keep my 24 f/2.8D, which I like. It's a nice little lens, and better in low light than 18-35G
