Wide Zoom

I have been using my 14-24 mm daily for several years and I am very happy with the lens performance, Started to think I should send it in for a good cleaning and alignment. I shoot mainly in the 18-20 mm lens for real estate interiors and often switch to the 24-70 for exteriors. The 14-24 even at 24 is still a tad wide for most of the exteriors. So, I decided to get a back up lens and will give the Tamron 15-30 a try. That should give me the back up I need and also the 30 end should help me on the exteriors without carrying and changing lenses. Will let you all know of how these two compare for my work load and style, should get the new lens next week. My hope is the Tamron will compare well in sharpness to the Nikon.

Those are DX lenses. OP shoots FF. Nikon's 17-35 2.8 would be a candidate, but it's $2K, almost 2x price of the Tammy.

I could have just gotten a 2nd 14-24, just wanted a tad more reach, don't need much more. Also, looking at adding a 2nd photographer to help with the work load and my back up D800 and the Tamron would make a good 2nd package. I have read some impressive reviews on the Tamron, will know soon if it was a good pick for me.

OK, shot a couple of homes with the 15-30, first impression is it is not as natural or warm as the Nikon 14-24, maybe slightly clinical, most of my shots were cooler, had to drop the blue down a little. Focus was very sharp, sharper than the Nikon but wide open at 15 it had white vignette at the corners, not sure what that's about. I am not trying to do a one on one comparison, just my normal use comparisons of the two for my use and application. I have a large 8500 sq ft home booked for Tuesday and I will probably shoot with the Nikon. I hope to shoot both lenses side by side so you can see the differences I am attempting to explain. Just a quick update of where I am at with this lens and how I see this lens performing.
