I thought I would create this thread so I can monitor my progress with this lens.
This is my first UWA lens so I'm a total noob shooting this focal length.

I think I'm going to have a lot of fun shooting with this lens.

Comments and pointers are always welcome. Thanks for looking and helping me along the way.

Great idea creating this threads. I am sure that I am going to look every time you post some new stuff

Thank you. I as well always look forward to your shots. Problem is sometimes I get so busy with work, trying to squeeze time in for shooting and keeping up with my favorite posters, I miss a lot of wonderful stuff.:(

While waiting on the service truck. I blew a water hose this morning and had a couple hours to kill waiting for help to come.

Well, I just found out that I have to be careful when using the in camera flash. As of right now I am not willing to invest in a hot shoe flash, nor have any desire to delve into that crazy mess, I'm going to refrain from using flash with this lense.
See?

I took a few more from my office/computer/music room.

I avoid flash as if it was the plaque. Might use fill flash once or twice a year and yes, you have to watch what lens you use it with.

If you had a lens hood on them take it off and that will help some. It also may not do it ove the entire range of the zoom.

This is what I came up with today, before it got too dark, plus it was raining most of the day. Maybe tomorrow I can post some decent shots, but this will have to do for today.

I think more practice you do the better the photos get with your tokina.

You know, I consider getting a wide-angle and I look every photo very carefully :) So, please keep going on with many different of composition. Thanks!!!

Some very nice shots here. What I find works for me when shooting this lens is having strong elements in the foreground and a deep DoF. Your "Exxon" shot really works for me for that reason: All those leading lines gently pull my eye from lower left, to upper right in a long, slow sweep... Very nice!
