​It's definitely one of my favorites, too, but I wish there were an affordable way to get filters on this lens. If there were then this would put this lens light years ahead of any other wide angle lens.

Looks like the 16-35 is the best choice if you want to use filters. I really wish they had included the new 18-35g. This also validates reviews of the 17-35 being a bit soft.

To be clear, it's the highest rated wide angle ZOOM lens.
