Thanks you so much Nestor, that was very nice of you to say!

Since you asked, here's the "secret": LUCK!

Lol. Actually, it took me about 15 takes...but only 3 eggs. Hidden in the middle of that mound of flour I had a little ramekin. To take the shot I pressed the remote trigger then immediately dropped it behind that red bowl of eggs. At the same time I was holding two egg halves in my other hand, and had to quickly grab one of those two halves and empty the contents into the ramekin - not the flour - hoping the shutter would fire as the yolk dropped. After each shot I ran through my kitchen, then the dining room, out the back door, and across the porch to check. If I didn't get it I had to run back inside and fish the yolk out of the ramekin and repeat the process. After 3 or 4 drops each yolk would finally burst, so I had to start a new egg. Fortunately I generally make my egg pasta with 3 eggs, so after doing all those takes I made a delicious dinner from the mess!

Since we're enthusiasts here, I might as well mention another point that I learned as I was setting this picture up: the only light in my kitchen is a fixture that's directly over my head there. When I took a test shot you couldn't see my face, shirt, or egg yolk because of the dark shadow that ran straight down my body. So I set up a fill light just outside the shot on the right side, placed low on the floor and pointed up towards me. You can see my left hand, the refrigerator, etc., are all exposed brighter than my other side. But it also illuminated my face and the egg yolk, which is what I needed (I also wore a dark shirt so the yellow yolk would contrast).

And now you know my deep, dark, closely guarded secret(s) - may they help you win your own competitions! Lol....

;)

Thanks Nestor! No need to apologize though - it's a popular time for vacations here also, so we get used to long silences. I hope you had fun during your time off!

Lol. I'm usually the one looking at your pictures and thinking, "Gosh, I still have a long way to go...." Glad you liked my explanation, though. Thanks again :encouragement:
