Congrats to the finalists!

I can't seem to vote in the poll. Do I need to vote prior to the finalist polling, or put in a submission to vote?

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the interest in the challenges. I'm not sure, but you may have to post on the forum a certain number of posts (Five Maybe) to be able to vote just like posting photos. You do not have to participate with an entry to vote and now is the time to vote. We look forward to seeing some of your work in the future. Someone with more knowledge on the minimum posts will jump in and correct me if I'm wrong.

Again, Welcome to the forum.

Congrats to the finalists!

I just want to take a moment and elaborate since I wasn't successful with my original vision. I got the idea when I took my mother to the hospital for an outpatient test (which went well!). As we were leaving the parking garage, I remembered it has several stairwells. That's when I got the idea to go back for the challenge. I knew I wanted to use a fisheye but also wanted to use a flash.

Unfortunately I incorrectly remembered how the stairwell was designed. In my mind, I thought all of the stairwells were fully enclosed and lit by light bulbs. They aren't. As you can see in the photo, the left side was engulfed by natural light. The right side was darker. I wound up having to raise the exposure of the right side in post.

But my original vision was thinking the stairwell was fully enclosed. I took a flash and a gel because I wanted to illuminate the stairwell with a red gel. I've been trying to learn more about flash and thought it would work well. But since the lighting was so uneven, one flash and one gel wasn't cutting it. I would have needed 2 flash units to balance the uneven light, 2 light stands, trigger/receivers, and 2 gels. :( Those things were at home. And I didn't think I'd have time on another day to retake the photo.

Since I deleted the flash/gel images, there aren't any to show you. They weren't good by any means because of the uneven lighting. :shame: Lol. At least it was a learning experience. :encouragement:
