Small Details
Weekly Challenge November 30 - December 7

The winner of the Architectural Detail challenge was teejay. He issued this challenge and will be judging the entries.

This is a still life challenge, using man-made small objects...such as things that would be found in a toolbox or around the house. Objects should be displayed how they might appear in a catalog. Use good composition and lighting!

Good luck!!

Be sure to visit the Weekly Challenge Rules & Guidelines for more information. This thread will be closed on December 7th...so get those photos in!

The Rules
  1. Photos must be posted to the thread in order to be considered for the challenge.
  2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread and taken by you! Because not all EXIF data can be verified, we will use the honor system here.
  3. Challenges will be judged solely by the winner of the previous week. There will be no individual voting.
  4. Only one photo entry per member, for each challenge.

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Challenge, unless specifically noted by the site administrator. This is a member-run contest, and the purpose of the Weekly Challenge is to encourage member participation on the forums and to keep you taking pictures!

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited/straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

The new challenge for next week has already been posted.
This one will be over at midnight tonight, and we're still on PAGE 1!!!

I can't help but feel a bit disappointed in the lack of participation lately, gang. I realize it's the holiday season and we're all busy. But, I look at the challenges posted last year at this time, and there were tons of entries. Have you all decided to get into a creative slump together? I would like to call out some people by name..some who used to join in all the time, but who haven't been heard from in awhile.

Yes, I'm talking to you.

There is more than double the amount of members here as there was last year at this time. There are also a lot of lurkers, people who are browsing this very thread as I type this, but who haven't even signed up for a FREE NIKONITES ACCOUNT yet. What are you waiting for?

Yes, I'm talking to you too.

Let's get with the program here. Don't be afraid of posting your work. Don't worry if you think it isn't good enough to compete with something you've seen posted. This isn't really even a competition, it's a chance for you to do what you love...take pictures.

Here's my entry

I didn't get exactly what I wanted. I tried all kinds of lighting and settings, just couldn't get what it the way I wanted ... but with practice, I will.
I'm relatively new to photography and still playing around with manual settings, lighting, etc. and don't quite have it down yet, lots to learn.

This site is going to be fun and educational, and I can't wait to get more involved.

Jack,
This is indeed an Invicta Reserve ... it's a Bolt GMT.
It is a nice watch and I don't think the photo does it justice.

Being somewhat of a watch freak, this is a cool shot. What kind of watch is it? Can't see the make.

I like watches too. I bought an Omega Speedmaster a few years back it's my favourite watch, however my everyday is a Tissot PRS200
