Weekly Challenge September 14-21

The winner of the previous challenge did not respond to messages. I created this challenge, and a new winner will be selected.

On a side note, this thread officially marks the one year anniversary of the Weekly Challenge. Our very first challenge was September 15-22, 2010.

Your challenge this week is to sell me something. I am your client, and I have hired you to shoot my product or service. Your photo will appear in print magazines, on the internet, and billboards. You do not need to create an advertisement with text, just a photo.

The product or service is up to you. Some examples include: interior design (as in the sample photo above), fashion, cell phones, wine, antacid pills, maid service, or even duct tape. Use your imagination, be creative, and do some research...there are plenty of still photo advertisements out there to draw inspiration from!

Keep in mind that your presentation and lighting should be dynamic and flawless. Keep a close eye out for imperfections such as dust and fingerprints on glass/touch screens, and wrinkles in clothing. Consider staging a scene and working with props or even hiring actors (friends).

Good luck!

Be sure to visit the Weekly Challenge Rules & Guidelines for more information. This thread will be closed on September 21st...so get those photos in!

The Rules

  1. Photos must be posted to the thread in order to be considered for the challenge.
  2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread and taken by you! Because not all EXIF data can be verified, we will use the honor system here.
  3. Challenges will be judged solely by the winner of the previous week. There will be no individual voting.
  4. Only one photo entry per member, for each challenge.

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Challenge, unless specifically noted by the site administrator. This is a member-run contest, and the purpose of the Weekly Challenge is to encourage member participation on the forums and to keep you taking pictures!

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited/straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

The winner of this challenge will receive a Nikonites mug, t-shirt, or embroidered hat, their choice!

Who won the last challenge? I didn't see any mention of the winner's name in that thread and now it's closed. I know it wasn't me but I'm curious to know which picture won.

You will find out when the next challenge is posted, the one after this. In order to keep things running smoothly (LOL) we are on a 2 week rotation.

^ Yum!! lol
This bread was SOOO good, we sliced and buttered it while the cheese bread was still hot. The butter melted right before our eyes, and was absolutely amazing, if you ever come to Invermere, I highly recommend picking up a loaf.

Four bags would not have survived my drive home.

The only way they make it home tonight is because I had them locked in the trunk of the car. Once I got home and laid them out the whole house smelled like sugar. I was still setting up my tripod and the kids kept asking if I was done yet. After about 20 shots with different lighting and lens I got my shot and now everyone is on a sugar high. Chris's blood sugar jumped to 170, gee I wonder why LOL

As I was leaving the park, I saw a Park Police officer. I told him that when he got ready to fix "that leak" (Niagara Falls) to give me a call.

That gave me the idea for this ad. :)

Enjoy

haha Pete.

I took this a couple days ago for a review I did of the Motorola Droid Bionic:

Please don't consider this as a contender - I rather not give a mug to myself :)
