"Discarded/Thrown Away" - @mikew 's Choice

After you discard it or throw it away, photograph it. It shouldn't be hard in our "throw away" society to find something to shoot. Ha! Let's see how creative you can be! Color, B&W, HDR...anything goes!

DO NOT SHOOT OR POST IMAGES UNTIL WEDNESDAY Jan. 20
This early announcement of the topic is to give a little think time, before the challenge begins. Photos must be taken and submitted between 00:00 UTC of the start date and 00:00 UTC of the end date.

The Rules

1. Photos must be captured with a Nikon and appear in the thread with EXIF info in order to be considered for the challenge. If the forum EXIF viewer does not show for any reason, listing the camera and capture date/time below the photo is acceptable. Listing exposure info, lens & focal length is encouraged so others can learn.

2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread.

3. Only one photo entry per member for each week, unless otherwise noted.

4. All regularly active members of Nikonites are allowed to participate, including moderators and administrators.

Voting

During the submission & like periods, please click the Thanks/Like button to vote for your favorite images. You can vote for as many as you want! At the end of the week, you will have the opportunity to vote again for the top 3 photos for this challenge!

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Photo Challenges, unless specifically noted by the site administrator.

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited or straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

For others confused by UTC - and maybe I'm the only one. I found a UTC converter site at Time Zone Converter ? Time Difference Calculator

Worked for me. Choose time zone converter at the top of third menu "Time Zones".

As you can see I can shoot garbage after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday in Alberta.
Even though I am much farther south than you, we can start at the same time. Ha! I just subtract 7 hours from the deadline time. 2400-700=1700 HOURS. Military and ham radio trained me well on this. :loyal:

This won't get it to show up in the photo, but will meet the requirements. Edit you photo post and put what you have posted here to include the DATE shot. You will be good. To edit the post go to the bottom right of the post and click on "Edit Post"

Because we have people having some problems with posting photos, I will add Don Kuykendall 's tutorial which may help.

Guidelines to adding a photo to your post.

1. Resize photo to 1000px on the long side.
2. Resolution set to 72ppi (Pixels Per Inch)

These guidelines will be good for viewing on a computer but will not be good for printing. This will help safeguard your copyright.

One man's trash is another's treasure. What better representation of this than a thrift store, where donated items, no longer wanted by their previous owners, are cleaned up and sold to new owners who do want them? Amazing treasures to be found, at times, in the things that others discard.
