"Internal Space"
- @Felisek 's Choice

"Internal Space" This is something that we all have looked into or been inside of or just thought about. Think inside or outside of the box, building, etc... This is open to broad interpretation. You get the picture. Let's see how creative you can be! Color, B&W, HDR...anything goes!

DO NOT SHOOT OR POST IMAGES UNTIL WEDNESDAY Oct. 14
This early announcement of the topic is to give a little think time, before the challenge begins. Photos must be taken and submitted between 00:00 UTC of the start date and 00:00 UTC of the end date.

The Rules

1. Photos must be captured with a Nikon and appear in the thread with EXIF info in order to be considered for the challenge. If the forum EXIF viewer does not show for any reason, listing the camera and capture date/time below the photo is acceptable. Listing exposure info, lens & focal length is encouraged so others can learn.

2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread.

3. Only one photo entry per member for each week, unless otherwise noted.

4. All regularly active members of Nikonites are allowed to participate, including moderators and administrators.

Voting

During the submission & like periods, please click the Thanks/Like button to vote for your favorite images. You can vote for as many as you want! At the end of the week, you will have the opportunity to vote again for the top 3 photos for this challenge!

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Photo Challenges, unless specifically noted by the site administrator.

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited or straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

Last week, our freezer failed. After removing everything from it, and packing what was still deemed salvageable in dry ice, I disassembled it, and found the problem. There's a fan, with a simple shaded-coil induction motor, that when I turned it by hand, I found that it did not turn nearly as freely as I thought it should. I removed that fan, and disassembled the motor, whereupon I discovered that one of the bearings was badly gummed up with some greasy/sticky material, I cleaned and lubricated both bearings, and put everything back together. The freezer has been running and performing flawlessly since then.

Alas, the thermometer (which you can't read anyway because the resolution is too low, when scaled down to the limits that this forum imposes) reads about +30°F. in this picture, but that's just because the freezer is open, and outside air is hitting it. Since the repair, this freezer has consistently been running about -10° to -15°F. My wife and I have both lately been irrationally-obsessed with checking it frequently. That obsession may also have influenced me, running out of time for this particular challenge, to use the interior of this freezer as the subject of my entry.

Thought about using the refrigerator but it was such a mess I would have had to clean it out first.:)
