[FONT=&quot] Axeman was the winner of the "Musical Instrument" challenge and issued the following challenge for the Week of July 13 - July 20.

If you have light, you have shadows. Your challenge this week is to make a photo that revolves around shadows. It can be your shadow, or the shadow of something, or shadow as defined by "absence of light". So get creative and have fun![/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Be sure to visit the Weekly Challenge Rules & Guidelines for more information. This thread will be closed on July 20 (midnight EDT)...so get those photos in!


The Rules[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]1. [/FONT][FONT=&quot]Photos must be posted to the thread in order to be considered for the challenge.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]2. [/FONT][FONT=&quot]Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread and taken by you![/FONT][FONT=&quot] Because not all [/FONT][FONT=&quot]EXIF[/FONT][FONT=&quot] data can be verified, we will use the honor system here.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]3. [/FONT][FONT=&quot]Challenges will be judged solely by the winner of the previous week. There will be no individual voting.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]4. [/FONT][FONT=&quot]Only one photo entry per member, for each challenge.[/FONT]

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Challenge, unless specifically noted by the site administrator. This is a member-run contest, and the purpose of the Weekly Challenge is to encourage member participation on the forums and to keep you taking pictures!

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited/straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.[/FONT]

I know I will regret being the first one to post on this, but hopefully I will stimulate others.

My picture is of the ultimate shadow makers: Clouds.

I will change my choice for this challenge to "Shadow to the landscape".

Ok....here is my first attempt at a shadow:

Focal Length: 40mm
1/10; f5.3

Also looking for any comments anyone might have. Still learning so I am always looking for pointers.

Water drop shadows
I see that I need to get a macro lens next, lol, I am not completely happy with this, but liked the shadows the drops made.

Thanks!!! I am curious though, the colors seem to be washed out a bit when I post here, they are much more vivid on my computer, any ideas as to what I am doing incorrectly? Everyone else's colors look great, nice and bright.
