"Abstract (Learning Experience)" - 10 Gauge's Choice

Time to get creative and try something a little different. We don't see as many abstract images on the forum, so this week is a good opportunity to exercise that muscle some to see what comes out. Let's see how creative you can be! Color, B&W, HDR...anything goes!

DO NOT SHOOT OR POST IMAGES UNTIL WEDNESDAY June 24
This early announcement of the topic is to give a little think time, before the challenge begins. Photos must be taken and submitted between 00:00 UTC of the start date and 00:00 UTC of the end date.

The Rules

1. Photos must be captured with a Nikon and appear in the thread with EXIF info in order to be considered for the challenge. If the forum EXIF viewer does not show for any reason, listing the camera and capture date/time below the photo is acceptable. Listing exposure info, lens & focal length is encouraged so others can learn.

2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread.

3. Only one photo entry per member for each week, unless otherwise noted.

4. All regularly active members of Nikonites are allowed to participate, including moderators and administrators.

Voting

During the submission & like periods, please click the Thanks/Like button to vote for your favorite images. You can vote for as many as you want! At the end of the week, you will have the opportunity to vote again for the top 3 photos for this challenge!

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Photo Challenges, unless specifically noted by the site administrator.

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited or straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

Thanks @RocketCowboy for getting this up. I see I just barely missed getting here in time.

That's a pretty good sample image. What makes an abstract image abstract is you really cannot recognize stuff in the picture. The less recognizable the better.

The second part of this challenge will be for those who do the Liking to Like the really abstract images.

A little less than 11 hours (aka 1/2 day(aka 660 minutes)) till the start of the SHOOT & SUBMIT period for this here ABSTRACT Challenge. Are you getting your ABSTRACTIONS lined out?

I edited my origonal... and I don't know why it isn't showing. I posted it to my gallary and linked to that, someone else in my house can see it so I would think it should be visible the way its intended. I guess I'll just have to back out of this weekly challange. The picture must be too dark or whatever to display on most screens or something to that effect. For the record though it ended up being a purple picture of noise, but oh well I suppose I don't belong in this challange anyway.

I'm in the same situation as you.

The challenge is a learning experience Stephanie. It encourages you to try new things, so please don't give up.
I did my idea, I learned how hard my idea was, I also learned that either this site hates the picture or its too dark for most peoples screens to actually properly read (maybe my screen is calibrated to be too sensitive, I have no idea), there really isn't a point in trying to do that again and I have no ideas for any other entry, so at the very least I'm out of this weeks one.
