Masks
Weekly Challenge: Apr.13 -Apr. 20

Jengajoh was the winner of the "Food" Weekly Challenge and issued the "Bridges" Weekly Challenge and has chosen the winner.

The winner has issued the challenge for the Week of Apr.13 - Apr. 20: Masks:

Masks are used world wide and have power and mystery for their wearers and their audience. Masks are most popular during Halloween, Mardi Gras (Carnival), children's parties and theater & film (i.e. Phantom of the Opera, Jason Voorhees in Halloween, etc).

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, will be to photograph the mystery of your own mask. This can be as simple as a child in a Lone Ranger mask or as compelling as a very frightening mask hanging on a street corner (or any mask in between).

Be creative and artistic! Good luck! Be sure to visit the Weekly Challenge Rules & Guidelines for more information. This thread will be closed on Apr. 20 (midnight EDT)...so get those photos in!

The Rules

  1. Photos must be posted to the thread in order to be considered for the challenge.
  2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread and taken by you! Because not all EXIF data can be verified, we will use the honor system here.
  3. Challenges will be judged solely by the winner of the previous week. There will be no individual voting.
  4. Only one photo entry per member, for each challenge.
There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Challenge, unless specifically noted by the site administrator. This is a member-run contest, and the purpose of the Weekly Challenge is to encourage member participation on the forums and to keep you taking pictures!

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited/straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

They keep giving me $10.00 and letting me go!!

I'm starting to get a complex!

Thank you Kayte for the kind words.

Thank you Mike150 for something or other. It'll come to me sooner or later. :)

My Ater-Ego - "I'm coming for you"

An alter-ego (Latin, "the other I") is a second self, a second personality or persona within a person, who is often oblivious to the persona's actions. A person with an alter-ego is said to lead a double life. <web source>

For over 25 years (now semi retired) I played the Executioner For the Lombard Jaycee Haunted House, Yes kids I'm a professional, I know what it takes to get under your skin. This is also how I met my wife, she was one of my "Victims". She will be the first to tell you how much she hates "Him" I'm sure she will comment on this photo, if she can get the never up to look at it lol

Yes, my eyes are that red. I suffer from chronic dry eye syndrome, and I purposely did not use my eye drops today for this photo, plus the black eye make up I use makes it even worse, adding to the effect of the mask. That hair you think is real, just more theatrical makeup, don't worry while your running away from me while I chase you down with a whip and an Axe, you'll never know the difference. ;)

Joe, great shot and color. I've been wanting to do something with welding, but no one around here that I know I can shoot.

joelewis: my husband would love that pic. Before the military, he went to school for welding- loves it, just hard to find jobs just starting out here where we are.

Thank you everyone. Pete....57 BelAir 2 door hard top. Dad had it for 40 years before handing it over to me. Of course after 35 years of sitting, Im required to do a frame off resto. Look for more pics in the future as I am getting more involved with the resto.

Figured that. Knowing you, it couldn't be a '58 or a '55. My money was on the '56 actually. A '56 Bel with the 327 fuelie. God that brings back so many memories.

I didn't realize that you were going frame off. That is gonna be fun!

I miss twisting wrenches, but with the chest cracked and loose, I have trouble picking up anything heavier than a pitcher of beer.

Keep me posted photographically. Maybe I can help a little bit. You see, I remember those cars when they were nearly NEW!
