Bridges

Weekly Challenge: Mar. 30 -Apr. 6

Axeman was the winner of the "Time" Weekly Challenge and issued the "Food" Weekly Challenge and has chosen the winner.

Your challenge for the Week of Mar. 30 - Apr. 6 is Bridges: Any bridge, foot bridge, over pass, railroad bridge, model bridge, train garden bridge...

Be sure to visit the Weekly Challenge Rules & Guidelines for more information. This thread will be closed on Apr. 6 (midnight EDT)...so get those photos in!

The Rules

  1. Photos must be posted to the thread in order to be considered for the challenge.
  2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread and taken by you! Because not all EXIF data can be verified, we will use the honor system here.
  3. Challenges will be judged solely by the winner of the previous week. There will be no individual voting.
  4. Only one photo entry per member, for each challenge.

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Challenge, unless specifically noted by the site administrator. This is a member-run contest, and the purpose of the Weekly Challenge is to encourage member participation on the forums and to keep you taking pictures!

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited/straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

This is not fair. I'm on an island in Japan!!! There are not many bridges here, ya know? ... I may have to think much smaller.

Welcome to the site Tony! I fixed your picture for you. Was it taken after Mar 30th?

"The Bridge Over Troubled Waters"

PETE!

I was going to do the same thing, I'm waiting for my Mom to come over in a few hours I need her teeth, LOL. I WAS going to use it for my 365. You beat me to it, good job, sick minds think alike.

The flat lands of Illinois, we have overpasses and underpasses, but not too many what I call "Bridges".

Forgot about the bridge challenge when I went out yesterday... Just happened to get this one.

Interesting shot. The graffiti surprises me. It is so uncharastic of the Japanese people. Of course, it's been almost 15 years since I had any real interaction with them.

Actually, I was expecting to see a photo of a Japanese garden with the arched bridge across the koi pond.

Awesome! Looks like now I have an excuse to take a road trip tomorrow. :)

My road trip was not a success. Apparently during the flooding that took place a month ago, the bridge I went to photograph suffered some pretty serious damage and has been completely removed. I've been sitting here racking my brain trying to think of another spot locally for a photo op, but haven't come up with anything. Blah.
