Weekly Challenge Jan. 20-Feb 2

This challenge is completely open-ended. You are free to take any photo you want, use any style you want, of any subject you want. As a special provision, you can also upload multiple images, up to 5 total submissions for this challenge!

There is a method to this madness. In case you haven't noticed, the "weekly" challenge is actually bi-monthly because of the submission/judging process. After this challenge is over, I will choose TWO winners and we will begin a true Weekly Challenge process, so that there will always be a topic, and you won't have to wait a week for the next one.

Take full advantage of your 5 photo limit for this challenge. The more entries you have, the better your odds are of winning. Get wild, crazy, and creative. I'm judging this one, and will choose creativity over technicality any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Just a recap:

Two week deadline
Up to 5 photos per member
Any topic, any genre of photography
Photos MUST be taken after 1/20/11. No exceptions!

Be sure to visit the Weekly Challenge Rules & Guidelines for more information. This thread will be closed on Feb. 2nd...so get those photos in!

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Challenge, unless specifically noted by the site administrator. This is a member-run contest, and the purpose of the Weekly Challenge is to encourage member participation on the forums and to keep you taking pictures!

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited/straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

Hello Mike, No, no tricks at all. The "ghostly" reflections are from our house windows with the smaller ones being from the kitchen and the larger ones from the French doors leading to the garden. So, no special effects !!

This is an open-ended challenge for a reason, guys. Lots of photos are expected over the next two weeks! This thread should reach 10 pages by then!

I sure am glad this is freestyle. I never can come up with Ideas for these things.
Anyway, I was given the opportunity to take some photographs within a private greenhouse. Orchids as far as you could see. Here are two of them, and hope they fare well in the judging.

Nice photo Jazz. That burst of light in the center of the splash looks like the optic sensor on the HAL-9000 from 2001 A Space Odyssey. Is it a reflection of sunlight, or from a flash?

I took the boys to the zoo today...and they started walking and holding hands...they are too sweet for words...my son really liked the paint effect and he asked me to use it for this picture..so I did...I hope you like...Amanda
