At the risk of drawing the angst and ire from a certain UK "photographer" who is "obviously" so much better than me, here is a selection from my last wedding for him to pull apart.
All of my prep shots are ALWAYS natural light only. Kate (my sister who doubles as my assistant) uses flash for hers - just personal preference.
1. - The Ring and flowers. I always try and do something more than just a here is a ring, here are the flowers shot. Placing the ring in the flowers is one of my goto shots.
2. Final touches of makeup. It is always nice get the bride sitting with a window in front of her face - the challenge is standing so as not to cast a shadow over her.
3. The smile of approval.
4. Before getting their frocks on.
5. This from my assistant - the Groom getting ready. She does all the groom prep, while I do the bride prep.
6. They wanted to incorporate their new bike into the wedding somehow - the only way they could think was to do a sneaky meet and greet before their ceremony. We met down the road from their house and grabbed this shot before the bride and groom went back to finish getting ready.

The grooms reaction. I love this venue but it is always really tricky to shoot at. The ceremony location is a very dark pergola / rotunda but with seriously bright back light. Have to get your levels right.
11. Further proof of dark area with massive backlight
12. Fantastic side light though....
13. The "Kiss"
14. I always bring letters that spell the word thank you - I send this back to the B&G within 2 weeks so they can print thank you images for all their guests should they want to.
15. We had a drizzly / very overcast day which always makes me happy - love the light where we were.
16. And a bit of rain.
17. Back light via 1 x SB-900 - Had Kate hide behind the couple - ambient light was dull enough with the flash on 1/1 to get a nice back light effect.
18. Under exposed by a stop or 2 to add drama to the background. Lit the B&G with a single SB-900 to my left held high.
19. For shits and giggles.
20. Obligatory pic with the car. I am not happy with my flash balance here, so will likely edit this one a bit to make it a tad better.
21. Mock first dance with lots of windows! 1 x SB-900 behind the couple and 1 to my right.
