Wish I could get light like this every wedding! The way the setting sun shines through her veil.... amazeballs.

Amazing light. I hope you ordered extra of it for future shoots.

I've been drooling over that 200mm f/2 lens you're shooting with. If you remember, and don't mind me asking, what aperture did you shoot those at? The exif data is missing the aperture you used.

G'day Moab - Always shoot it at f2.0. Always.

It is an amazing lens... and the distance you need to be away from your subject allows for a decent depth of field for what I use it for. Shame you aren't closer - would be happy to go out and let you have a borrow and play with it.

Most of the videographers I work with shooting weddings want this lens - they are usually pretty jealous.

I pretty much always shoot wide open with all my lens'. The only time I might to go f4.0 is for a small group shot or up to around f11 for a full group shoot of 100+ people.

Thanks for sharing that. Every time I see work from that lens I just drool - that lens truly has some magic dust sprinkled on it.

I'll find some more and make a 200mm f2.0 topic... and post images from it.

I use it every opportunity I get.

Fantastic light. Truly not an everyday occurrence. I dream of light like this when I'm shooting landscapes.

Great shots Kev. Did you use fill flash on the group shot? It doesn't look flashed and the exposure is great but it is backlit so I was just wondering.

Nope - no fill... it is backlit, but the sun was very soft and mellow yellow, so the contrast between the background and the front of their faces wasn't too great. I am also angled away from looking directly into the sun. I did a few like that that my assistant held a reflector for, but there was still a HEAP of flare... I preferred this angle.

Thanks Kev, they certainly worked well.

Beautiful shots. Hard to believe there was no fill-in light! I suppose you brightened your subjects up in post processing? Gives me ideas for my friends' wedding I promised to do next year.

The last 1 I certainly did, but the ones taken with the 200mm f2.0 probably not too much - I will check. Might have raised shadows a tad...

A $6,000US lens!! (GULP)

Stunning shots... and the bride is beautiful, btw.

I hope one day I will be able to take shots like that.

The problem is you read what you want to read..my brides are perfectly happy ..I get rounds of applause .comments pictures 100 x better than we expected..etc ....it is me that is not happy... with some couples who wont put the effort and time in to get the best....If you come away from a wedding 110% happy with what you have done thats a bad sign ..you can always do better.

Can't say I agree with the censorship going on here. Surely we're all adults and can deal with some disagreement?
