Hi all! I'm going to be looking for a Nikon brand battery grip for my new d90! How soon I can buy one will depend on the cost, since I just spent all my money on the D90! Lol :)
Anybody have a good one they want to sell? Any advice welcome as always! Lol :D

I have seen them relatively inexpensive on eBay. Definitely buy Nikon brand. I just bought a new Nikon brand replacement battery for my D90 and it lasts a lot longer per charge than that off brand it had in it when I received it.

I agree with using Nikon batteries but I have used Meike grips on my D200, D300, D700 and D800 and have had no problems. Nikon is just way to proud of what they think their grips are worth. Spend the $ you save on glass.

OK I bought MEIKE LCD BATTERY GRIP FOR NIKON D80/ D90 for $30.00 new, but out of package, to try out. it was so cheap I just had to give it a try. If it doesn't work good I'll just wait till I have some money and buy a different grip. :)

Meike isn't a bad brand. It should suit your needs just fine without spending the dime it costs for the Nikon branded one.

I have a grip on my D-90. The reason I purchased it was because of battery life. When shooting school sports it's nothing to crank out 1500 shots during a game. I soon found it more confortable with it than without. When my wife wants to use it I tend to take off the grip so she can stick it in her purse. Holding it without the grip now feels real awkward. So yes I agree that it also feels more confortable while holding.

I haven't had the need yet for the extended battery life, but it was one of the reasons I bought the grip on my D3100. I was a little surprised that it was more comfortable for me having the grip, since I have smallish hands. Lol :D But now it's the first thing I buy after I buy a new Nikon! Lol :)

I hope your right! :)

skene is right. I bought one of that make for my D3100 - it is absolutely brilliant and has added to the weight/grip as well (and I have big hands). I got my new D7100 yesterday and the first thing I did was order one for that. At that price, and quality, it is first rate. The only thing that doesn't work is the extra shutter button on that (you need to wire the grip to the ports on the side for that to work). I'm not bothered.

I bought my D90 used with grip already attached. The seller didn't want to be bothered selling them separately. It's not an original Nikon grip, it's by Aputure, so he probably wouldn't have got much for it anyway. It seems OK but I don't use it. Maybe I should try to sell it? LOL!

I picked up a used Nikon grip for $49 at a camera store with some used inventory, taking a gamble that it worked. Got it home and it worked just fine, and it hasn't been disconnected from my D90 since. The extra battery/reserve power is great and lets me travel without taking the charger.
