dear nikonians!

now for something completely different... TimeLapse photography....

here is a special astronomic landscape timelapse video (done with D700, D7000, D300, D3X), which has recently got a very nice review on "NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC" and is a statement against light pollution:

New Mountain Timelapse: A [Sound]Garden of Night Lights – National Geographic News Watch

About 12200 NEF images have been captured in sequences, about 5250 used. work hours better not counted, but many unforgettable impressions during very cold winter starry nights on mountain peaks and other nice viewing places.

Post Processing with Capture NX, Apple Aperture, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere... Deflickering with Granite Bay's great GBDeflicker plugin for AE...

If anyone is interested a bit more in astronomic landscape phoptpgraphy I highly recommend for a start:

Lennart Nilsson Award to Babak Tafreshi (TWAN project) and Carolyn Porco | IYA2009 Updates | Astronomy 2009

I hope you like the video, because it is something totally different done with Nikon DSLRs and was a lot of hard work... The German NPS Guys really liked it!

I wish everyone clear skies!

Your thread has been moderated.

I'm not entirely sure this isn't just spam that should be removed completely, so I just removed all the links and put it in the correct forum. As a general rule, don't make your first post contain a bunch of links (especially ones that are to purchase items) and place it in some random section of the boards.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is just spam. There were about a dozen links in his original post that I removed. Let's give it a week...if he makes another post, fine. If not, to the trash bin with him!

You make "Taking out the trash" sound like it's not really a chore. I hate that task. Every Sunday Night. drag that can all the way down to the street. Then drag the empty back on Monday night.

But the images are very nice to look at. I had a look at the exif and there was a lot of work in each of them.

Dear Anthony, dear Nikonites!

First, sorry that I didn't read the forum rules so exactly, and added some links. I am originally from the German Nikon Forum, and there it isn't a problem. We often post some links as referrals to our Nikon TimeLapse works. Usually the vids are on Vimeo.

It is just that the project is better explained via the three links I provided.

However, I would like to ask, if the first link to my Nikon TimeLapse video project, that got a review on Nat Geo could be brought back in. Because actually, otherwise I don't know how I should show you guys the project??

Victoria from NG explained the Video in such a competent way, I just can't do better.

About the Images: yes, lots of work. I am a NPS photographer, and I take my work seriously.

Again, sorry for the bad formatting of the original post.

Hope for a better start the next time ;)

Cheers,
Christoph

Odd timing on this. All the D700/D7000/D300 text were all linking to Amazon too when this first went up...your new affiliate software must've been going haywire. As none of that had been made public yet, I removed the links. Seemed like someone was just linkbaiting to me, and since this was a first post...well...you would've done it too. :p

I very nearly deleted this as spam, too, but, as Anthony said, I decided to give it a week and see what happened. Glad that I didn't delete it out of hand. :)

Howdy!

There is a new version of Black Hole Sun with additional footage from the Dolomites and some new from around Innsbruck... I also did some new imagery at the slideshow.

Have fun and good light to everyone!
Chris
