Last Jazz Band performance of my daughter in her middle school.

D800E + 24-70mm f2.8, 1/50, f4, ISO 1000, ME-1 mic. 1080p, 30 fps.

Very good Jazz band, especially for a middle school. My kids were in band and it can be hit of miss on if you have to wear earplugs or not.

Was this shot with your D800? On-board mike? Quality of video and audio is very good.

I tried out for the Middle School band. I was hoping to get Second-Chair Triangle. The instructor said I didn't have the aptitude.

Very nice performance, Glenn. I know that you are proud of your daughter's performance, as you should be. Your video is fantastic, as well.

The facilities that your daughter is playing in look very bright. I can never capture that when I take photos, because it seems that the venues are always so dark. Yeah, it must be that, right?

All three of my children have participate in band, with two still doing so. The memories for all of us are beyond words. (My eldest child performed in the Tournaments of Roses parade in 2008 and my middle child performed in the 2012 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. We'll see what my third child gets as a major trip in about three years.

Thanks Don. The video was shot using my D800E and the external Nikon ME-1 mic in Auto (volume) in order to get a stereo sound.

The lighting was not bad. With the settings I had, ISO 1000 was the ideal setting.
