Have you been able to get more information on the release date of the 85mm 1.4 lens? And, any idea as to the cost? I looked at B&H this morning and couldn't find it. They usually carry the new lenses shortly after release.

I spoke with one of the guys working at a local camera shop regarding 85mm f1.4 VR, he told me that his Nikon Rep won't tell him anything about the new lens release but hinted regarding "many new products" being shown at the fotokina (sp) show coming up in September. When I looked at B & H, I realized that the version that I thought was the new release was actually an older release - my bad! I think I'll just shut-up now and wait (and save).

I looked at the Samyang/Bower 85mm again on B & H to confirm that it only came in a 'manual' focus option ... might be worth waiting for the Nikon (besides, I can't afford it right now) if you need/want the AF feature. Have you found an AF Samyang?
yeah i know the one i would like is manual and i have tried to look for an AF in samyang but nothing so far

Manual focus is one thing, now I am reading about the ones with a chip ($50 more) for nikon. Not much for reviews on that one yet.
