    Test Sigma 150-600mm C with z6ii

    Test Sigma 150-600mm C with z6ii
Received a new (hopefully) sigma 150-600mm C recently from AMZ. Being testing it with my z6ii mainly for sharpness at 600mm. The first stage of shooting still objects was about done, yet no opportunity for testing moving objects with auto-tracking (any suggestion for moving objects other than wildlife, e.g., birds). The following images are all handheld AF, @600mm, and non-cropped except the Moon shots at the end which are 100% cropped. Would appreciate your comments on whether Dock- refining is needed for this lens.

(this one is surprisingly in sharpness and details)

I will add sports to that list Marilynne.

I would say the lens is working good too. I have not done any focus tuning on mine either. And I have the sigma dock.

Money. Mine just flies out of my wallet. Probably faster than the top shutter speed on your Z6ii could capture.

Congrats @blackstar on your new Sigma 150-600c. I love my copy and I find it performs very well at 600mm. However on my extensive research prior to buying I noted that a few 'experts' on youtube claimed that the lens is supposedly sharper at 550mm than it is at 600mm. I really haven't done at tests myself as I'm more than happy with the 600mm results.

Worth noting, as per my contact with Sigma, the three small screws at the end of the lens barrel can come loose and it's worth checking and tightening occasionaly.

Interesting! My Sigma 150-600cc C has four small screws at the end of the lens and they have never come loose (knock on wood). Does Sigma have two different lens designs?

Not sure, but when I phoned them they knew exactly what I was talking about as one had fallen out. They kindly sent me several replacement screws free of charge which was very nice of them.

Thanks, Marilynne. Planes and copters only occasionally come by... never see any balloon flying about in this town... well wish me luck when some plane comes by I have my small cannon in hand to shoot

Thanks, BF. Good idea. I may have luck going neighborhood park for some kids' game.
