Hi Guys
What teleconverter would you recommend for my Nikon 200-500mm lens? At this time I don't have any "S" type extender.s

The Nikon 1.4x TC will only cause one-stop light loss, not 1.4 stops. So since your current lens is a constant f/5.6, it will make it a constant f/8. What body do you use? Not all bodies are capable of focusing at f/8. To understand, please read this Nikon article.

Which DSLR cameras are compatible with focusing at f/8?
Df, D4, D4S, D5, D6, D500, D600, D610, D750, D780, D800, D800E, D810, D850, D7100, D7200, D7500.

Kenko makes a less expensive TC, but sharpness and will definitely suffer.

You'd have to check the Nikon compatibility chart to find out if the 'ii' or 'iii' version of the TC would work best. Not all TC's are compatible with all lenses.

EDIT: And here is that chart. It looks like both the 'ii' and the 'iii' are compatible.

Thank you guys for the response. It looks like a no brainer, the TC-14 II is the way to go. It will fit all of my lenses!
Thanks again

I bit the bullet and bought the recommended TC-14 II on e-bay for $225.00. Like new in the box with whatever comes from factory! Good deal?. Time will tell!
