Thought I would post this as I combed the internet looking for answers with no info out there. I noticed my pics weren't tack on sharp, thought it was me or the camera settings. My Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR just seemed to not focus properly. Worked fine a week before shooting. Didn't drop it or anything. Long story short sent it in to Nikon. Its currently waiting on a part(s). It is being repaired under warranty at no cost to me but never heard of this with a Nikon pro lens. Not sure if I am the first to stumble on a possible factory issue or not. Just wanted to share this in case anyone else may have this issue in the future.

No offense but "not focus properly" is not a very descriptive analysis of what the problem was... Was it front focusing/Back focusing/Not af focusing... ??????????? What part is Nikon replacing? The focus motor/circuit board???

Update, I received my lens back a couple of weeks ago but had to go out of town. Here is a copy of the work order. LensRepair.jpg
