So what lens to shoot the moon?
Tonight I tried the Nikon 400mm f2.8 AI-S for the first time (no teleconverter) on the moon with the D850. Handheld, manual mode. Better than the Pentax 6x7 300mm

    The moon shot on August 5th with Nikon D850, 800mm f5.6 AI-S, TC-301 (2x), at 1/400th, f11, ISO1250, on a Manfrotto 393 gimbal mounted on a Feisol Elite CT-3372 carbon fiber tripod.

This photo of the moon was taken within a few days of when my new Z50 camera had arrived.
It was taken, handheld on manual, With kit lens (50-250) iso 100. I then previewed the image while tweaking the shutter (above 1/250s) to determine how dark or bright to make it. f/6.3: 1/320s: ISO: 100
