After reading the reviews and watching a bunch of YouTube videos I bought the 1.4 teleconverter this morning. I wanted to get out and do some photography today but there's a lot of smoke in the air. I'll have to check the news and see where the forest fire is at. The TC-X4 is very well built and works very smoothly on the lens and camera. It will come in handy for some wildlife shots. Should also be good for some air show shots.

Might as well slap it on your 70-300 because once you want reach, there's never enough reach. By same merit, a 2x would've been even better and much more useful.

You are reading my mind here with lenses. I've heard from Tamron that although the TC-X14 isn't "officially" supported on the older 70-200/2.8, it will still work well on that lens. That might be my interim step with the Tamron unit, since my Kenko didn't seem to want to work with that lens at all the last time I tried it.

The fires are in British Columbia and our high pressure area is stationary. So won't be doing any photography until is clears up some.
