I was in my neighbors back yard to photograph my grand daughter in there pool so I just grabbed my 70-300 VR lens. I have not used it since I got my 200-500. When I got my 200-500 I knew it was a awesome lens. But until you go back to your older lens do you realize how good it is. I really notice the VR. The VR on the 200-500 is so much better. I can hold the 200-500 with the help of the VR so much more steady than the smaller and lighter 70-300. It is amazing. Would never think it. And the 200-500 is so much sharper. Not sure when i will use the 70-300 again. LOL
