Nikon AF NIKKOR 35-70mm F2.8 D Lens works great on D7100, doesn't work on D7000

I recently sold this lens on ebay and the buyer said she got an EE message on her D7000. Any idea whether she had something not set up properly? I agreed to refund her money, got the lens back, slapped it on my D7100 and it worked fine.

She forgot to put the aperture ring at the smallest aperture.

Actually she said se did. It was returned in that position.

Some people enjoy lying about what they get just so they can use something, then return it for a full refund.

Same thing I had with this lenses on my D7100. Just adjusted the aperture ring as Marcel stated.

She probably wanted to test the lens if it was something she would be interested in keeping.
