    OK here is the first hand held shots using my newest, biggest, and heaviest lens! Lol

    Any tips and advice welcome!

    My only suggestion would be to get a monopod.

    congrats, I use this lens all the time ... love it! keep it in good light, and exposure speeds fast enough, and it will award you!

    I can't get a monopod for months likely, but I'll put it on the list with my other needs. Thank buddy.

    Cool can you give me a good starting place for the minimum shutter speed you'd recommend for this lens? Apparently my shutter speed setting was too slow, since getting sharp focus didn't really happen for me in my test shots! Lol

    Leave it at f/7.1 as it is its sharpest.

    Practice your handholding technique and do not go below 1/400sec... Keep the shutter speed nice and fast handholding.
