I have been using this lens for just over a week. It looks and feels like a far more expensive lens, the images are clear and crisp all through the zoom range, the vibration control works as it should and I would recommend this lens to anyone wanting excellent images through this focal range....

Anyone tested this Tamron lens against the Tamron 70 - 200mm f2.8 , obviously the AF is slower but the optics are supposed to be superb .
Bur that VC function goona blow the 70-200 out of the water , just curious does the 2.8 auto focus on dx bodies.

Value for money , and slightly sharper tho not dissing the Nikon at all , just my preference to save £140 over the Nikon which would buy me a 35mm dx lens .

The new Tamron 70-200 2.8 has VC and a slight edge on the 300 as far as IQ

I was more interested in the older tamron 70 200mm 2.8 if di as its quite cheap now new, but a used nikon 70 200 2.8 vr gotta be a better bet .
Still its the Tamron 70 300mm that wins on VFM but the Nikon 70 300mm is probably better built between the two , but with zooms always going to be a compromise somewhere.

I have both and the IQ on the 2.8 is better but the 70-300 for the price is an amazing value. The VC on both are outstanding helping with handheld
low light. I used to also own the Nikon 70-300 VR along with the Tamron 70-300 VC....I still have the Tamron. ;)

Thanks Vindex1963 , ordering the nikon 70 300 vr next 2 weeks along with Nikon 10 24m UWA lens , its been a tough choice for sure but I just think Nikon QC is a better bet than the third party option , thats just my personal choice and not a reflection on the third party lenses I'm sure they are good . Thanks again .

After searching the internet looking great photos (https://explorecams.com/photos/pair/nikon-d7200=tamron-sp-70-300mm-f-4-5-6-di-vc-usd-a005) and back to my D7000 plus the Nikon 55-300 experience, I have decided to get the Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD (A005).

In 5 minutes I will be heading off to my Home-city called Chonburi to by this lens. I hope they have it in stock. The main store at Bangkok has it, I don't know if the branch has it. Fingers crossed.
