Tamron 150-600 mm 1:5-6.3

The so much awaited Nikon mount of Tamron's latest telephoto seems to be on way now.

Unfortunately the date is mentioned for Japan only. Anyone having any knowledge of how long usually Tamron takes to introduce the product in India after it's been introduced in Japan? What are the expected dates? 'And', what are your views about the lens as of now?

if you click on this link, you can see the official statement of Tamron Japan. The Nikon mount is going to be launched in April at CP+2014 Tamron booth. I was wondering when around will it be available in this part of world.

"Around April 2014" has been there since February.

My local dealer is still only getting the odd canon in and has had no new word on Nikon fit

Any idea what could be the possible dates?
Alldealers in my contact are in the same condition and one of them even said that the lens will be here until June...

I would personally desist from such a large range zoom. Most of the users buy 500/600mm zooms for the 500/600 end, and that is where it is normally soft. In my experience a 300mm F4 prime is a better acquisition. With TC 1.4 its is a stellar 420mm F5.6 lense and with a TC1.7 an OK 510mm lense, but the IQ will still be better than the zooms at the long end.

Lot of times it is better to shoot with a sharp lense at a lower focal length rather than with a soft lense at a longer focal length. With my D3300 I have matched the 55mm end of the kit lense and the 35mm prime and the prime image is much better when compared to the zoom at the same image size. That is what the D7100's 1.3 crop mode is all about.
