Talk me out of getting the 80-400 Nikkor!

OK, so I've set my sights on upgrading my 70-300, and am seriously considering the new 80-400 Nikkor. Can anyone convince me NOT to get it?

Can't help you, I have just come off Google comparing prices because I'm thinking of upgrading from my 70-300vr. Spooky that your post is the next thing I read!

Do not get the 70-300mm VR and get the 80-400mm VRII (newer version) if that partially answer your request.

Ok, don't get it, take the money you would have spent and go to a strip club with your buddies!

But,, this is the original one,, ancient now,, and you can get mint versions for 600 dollars! versus new,, I have been quite please with the lens. I added the Kirk colar,, which is way studier than
the stock.

I already have a 70-300 (for ~ 3 years now).

If you buy it children in Africa will starve.

If you buy it the government will shutdown...oh wait did you already get it?

Just buy it, once I finish getting my car fixed I think this will be my next purchase. May even sell my old 80-400 cheap.

OK. Don't buy the 80-400. You can't afford it. You don't need it.You won't use it that often. How's that......convinced?

Because you can buy one of these, Sigma 120-400mm f/4.5-5.6 DG APO OS HSM, for under 800 bucks.

Yea..but he will lose width^^^Get the Nikkor..super sharp...

Theres a good reason the sigma is so cheap.


Go buy the Nikon 80-400mm its a good lens and million times better than the sigma or any other 3rd party lenses.

Don't knock all of Sigmas Lens..The Art series ones are top notch..
