Today we updated the logo and icon that you see in your browser. There were a couple other color tweaks to vbulletin as well. enjoy!

Wouldn't the Nikonite logo make a really nice cloth patch for a ball cap, or a T-shirt, or maybe even a sweatshirt? I think it's a pretty cool logo. :)

I like the format and the direction that the site has taken so far, and would agree that a cap, T-shirt, etc. would be nice. Having said this, please don't let the site slide into being a catalog of goodies with the Nikonite logo, and the sale of other distracting items. I'll say it, although I shouldn't, i.e., Don't end up like Nikonions.

Dave, I quite agree with you on that point...don't end up like Nikonians. That site turned too commercial for me as well. I just thought the logo looks good, so why not have it on a ball cap or something. It's just an idea. :)

I would buy the cap and T-Shirt in a heartbeat if it were of good quality and priced right (non-profit). My point was to keep the site in a "Team Nikon" spirit and not let it erode by saturating it with commercial products .... seems like we're in total agreement. Anyone else have an opinion on this ?

I would say we're in total agreement also. Of course, the price would have to be extremely reasonable (non profit).

I can arrange something with getting the logo printed on things if there is enough interest :)

How many members do we now have? Can you print on demand or will you have to place a large order for price breaks, etc. Also, logistics, inventory, shipping and handling is a cost as well. Lot's of things to consider.... and, who would front the money needed to start the activities? I would buy T-Shirts, caps if they were available so you have my interest.

More than likely we could go through a service like cafepress. This way no one has to worry about fronting money or shipping.

I realize this topic has been quiet for a while, but I do have an alternate suggestion.

Why not an iron on patch? That way, we could make our own caps, jackets or even install the patch on on our gadget bags.

Just a thought.

That's a good idea too Pete. I've been doing some research on different companies that offer on-demand printing. One that I really like and have used more recently is Zazzle.

So I easily start making t-shits, mugs, hats, etc. Do you guys want anything besides the logo printed on them?

Here's a simple design for a black t-shirt:

That is simple and sweet!

If you leave the option of customizing open, the the logo idea is just great. We will be able to add whatever we want to personalize the item, be it a coffee mug or tee shirt.

I did leave that option on, but it looks like you can only customize the shirt, not add the logo to other products. I'll have to modify the white background logo to work with white shirts and mugs. If I get enough interest I can have them convert the logo for embroidery on hats and collared shirts too.
