I'm astounded that the Nikonites community has grown so fast. In a little less than 8 months we've had 4,000 new members! So to keep that trend going here are a couple useful things to get the word out that our community exists to other Nikon shooters...

Thank you all for your continued support in the Nikonites community!

We are not doing well on google for the following search terms, photography forums, nikon photography forums or digital photography forums. I don't know about SEO for vb forums, just web sites but maybe some tweaking might help. I did look at the source code and it does look different than typical web meta tags etc.

There are a couple keywords that we are ranking well for. Like "Nikon Community", and "D7000 forum". The sites that are coming up 1st for the terms you mentioned are just larger, more established, have more inbound links, and thus more relevant to those keywords.

Well thats you linked through to my Facebook, do you have a pre prepared link code that I could copy and paste into my website? or am I heading into this free hand LOL :)
If you have looked at my page, at the bottom is a link to the Nikonians webring, but seeing as they can't be bothered to actually activate the link I think it will be going missing very very soon. I will be adding a link through to Nikonites as it is by far the best forum for friendly helpful advice I have found. The only other that comes close is myfinepix, which is good but not a lot of use for Nikon owners :)

I found my way here through Google, looking for an answer to a problem I had, and a Nikonites thread came up.

I joined up so I could make a post, and I am still here.

I just checked Google for "nikon photography forum" and we are #1
I just checked Google for "nikon d5100 forum" and we are #2
I just checked Google for "nikon d7000 forum" and we are #2

Those are all pretty good results.

A suggestion - an active news section on the front page..
We do have one now, but that doesn't have real time or breaking news about Photography/Nikon..
That would help drive some traffic

It would definitely make hearing news about Nikon products easier.

I found Nikonites through Google while looking for some information about my D7100. I think we should tell our friends who use Nikons about Nikonites.

Hello Admin!

My name is Sophie and I am currently a student at San Diego State University. For one of my classes, my group was assigned a project to interview someone who is loyal to the Nikon brand for quite some time, and who owns multiple Nikon cameras. I was wondering if you you would be interested in speaking to me about this? My group has been having a lot of trouble with trying to find someone to talk with us and give us some insight, so anything helps! You can e-mail me at [email protected]. Thank you so much.

Sincerely,

Sophie
