That's cool. Very tempted to get into macro photography and this sounds like a handy addition to the tool belt.

it's both there are a bunch of modes you can use, so far I really like it. Haven' had a real chance to put it to use. But I have taken a few shots around the house. Works great for fill.

It's pretty cheap and well worth looking into, about $30.00. You can't go wrong. You have a lot of control on how, & where the light is used.

Works great as a speed lite as well.

Took these pics. with my old D70s & a 50mm 1.8 lens, using the Halo ring.

Thanks for the pic Curt. I think I will pass this one. Looking at your exif, I notice 1/125 @ 1.8 iso 640. I'd like to get a lot more power from a flash and also benefit from the faster 1/1000 or less of the flash for bugs close-ups. I have a small light box that fits over my SB-700 that I use with my Sigma 105 2.8 macro and I can shoot at f-11, iso 200. The leds would not be beneficial to me for now.
