Hi

I have joined the forum today. I have started using DSLR cameras recently and currently have a D3100 with 18-55 kit lens. I am interested in wild life photography and request members to suggest some zoom lenses for the learners

thanks

Welcome to the forum pbala. For wildlife zoom lenses, there is just no limits to what someone can spend to get closer and sharper. Usually, the longer and brighter lenses are, the better. And the price goes with it. Also, fixed lenses usually are sharper than zooms.

With your 3100, remember that you' need "AF-S" lenses (lenses with an inside focusing motor). Third party lenses can be more affordable but you should start with how much you have to spend BEFORE starting shopping.

Good luck and share your pics!

Welcome Pbala,
I've had my D3100 since March this year, and in the last month I added the 55-300mm AFS VR-II lens to my kit list.... I can't recommend it enough! Depending on your budget for a wildlife lens, this could be a good starting point.
What sort of wildlife do you want to shoot?

Steve
