first try at the moon

this was in Varadero Cuba

Not a bad first effort. The exposure was too long, hence the overblown look. ( unless you raised the exposure slider in post processing ? ) The sky also looks like its received too much exposure, and if this was shot at full night time, it should be pretty much black at the correct shutter speed

It was shot at 10 am I should have left some clouds in

Not sure why clouds would change anything but you you need a faster shutter speed
