D90 point and shoot shot

Here's an example of a shot I took in Africa with my D90, basically set up on Auto and working like a point and shoot.

I believe that I could get much better results if I really understood my camera

Brilliant head shot ! A little extra space around him or her would have helped even more ( less vicious crop ) but a great capture none the less
