Why is the 18-200mm lens so underestimated?? Love this thing!!

My wife and I both have one and really like them. Over the years we've been consistently impressed with the results.
I was recently thinking of going fx and thought I would still keep the 18-200 as my walkabout.
Some people get a bit elitist about primes or fast zooms and try to dismiss this lens, however I suspect it is rarely the reason people get bad photos.

I have used my 18-200 more than any other lens I own, I have used it on my D800 and it works very well on a FX body, you won't be disappointed other that giving up a lot of resolution. I have an indoor theater gig coming up so used that as an excuse to buy a 70-200 f2.8 which seems to work very nice on my FX body. The 18-200 lives on my D300 most of the time.
