I had been wanting to test this lens for a while now and was finally able to do so this past Saturday. Some pictures online of this lens are a bit deceiving - it is not a very big lens at all. When i got it mounted on my D80, you really notice the weight of the lens - your camera becomes very unbalanced. The lens is ALL metal and is built like a tank. It is very simple to use once you figure out all the three rings - aperture, focus, zoom. The test shots that i took were very good, atleast the ones that were not blurry, lol - should have used the flash. Anyhow, it is certainly a lens that you would use with a tripod or if you can hold it real steady, good luck. If you are looking for a really cost efective zoom lens and are comfortable in using an all manual lens with no VR, then this could be the lens for you. The one i looked at was only $75, but i did not get it. i figured an extra 30mm was not worth it.
